Pulse Analytics

Overview

Pulse Analytics is a web application that hosts several data tools that surface key insights across multiple dimensions of the specialty market access landscape to pharmaceutical clients.

At Pulse, I partner with consultants at our parent company, The Dedham Group, to develop new tools and create custom digital offerings. Each tool has a specific area of focus, from clinical trials to insurance policies to third party pathways recommendations. All tools share the same goal to help pharmaceutical companies identify and overcome barriers that prevent patients from receiving life-saving therapies.

I chose to highlight recent projects below. Due to my confidentiality agreement, I am only able to share the high-level mockups of the application.

At Pulse Analytics, I translate complex healthcare concepts into user-centered designs that support clinical decision-making.

Net Cost Recovery Tool

Tool Overview

In 2024, I partnered with the Head of Product and senior leadership to conduct internal research aimed at identifying opportunities for new tool development. Through this work, we aligned on a strategic opportunity to build the Net Cost Recovery Tool—a product designed to analyze provider channel economics using medical claims data. The tool helps users understand reimbursement trends, net cost recovery dynamics, and their influence on account behavior to support more informed channel strategy decisions.

My Role

  • Conduct competitive research to evaluate the market landscape and identify opportunities for differentiation

  • Analyze the strengths and limitations of claims data to guide feature prioritization

  • Define the product’s structure and information architecture to support user goals

  • Design new UI design system components to support tool features

Oncology Provider Tool

Tool Overview

The Oncology Provider Tool enables clients to better understand high-impact provider accounts by analyzing indication-specific clinical, operational, and economic behaviors and trends at hospitals and care centers across the US.

At Pulse Analytics, we work closely with consultants who lead custom research projects for clients. These projects often generate large, complex data sets that are translated into custom feature add-ons to the Provider Tool.

My Role

  • Collaborate with consultants to understand the goals and key findings of each research project, then translate those insights into intuitive, client-facing features that highlight the most important and actionable data trends

  • Ensure the final designs are clear and aligned with the client's strategic needs

  • Conduct user surveys to gather insight on NPS score and identify areas for improvement

Payer Quality of Access Tool

Tool Overview

The Payer Quality of Access tool helps clients evaluate insurance coverage for their products, highlighting which restrictions are most burdensome to patients and how their product coverage compares to competitors. Clients can evaluate access at a regional-, state- or payer-level, informing targeted account engagement strategies to secure favorable payer access.

My Role

  • Audit user analytics, synthesize client feedback and conduct competitive research to identify existing pain points and areas for potential feature expansion

  • Utilize the ICE prioritization method to evaluate features and create product roadmap

  • Modernize outdated and difficult-to-navigate pages

  • Design & implement Pendo guides for new feature releases
